F.R.I.E.N.D.S Cafe Singapore

On my recent trip to Singapore, I knew I had to visit the F.R.I.E.N.D.S Cafe – Central Perk. I didn’t get a chance to visit this place before I left in December, so I was super-excited to be checking it out this time around.

Singapore’s F.R.I.E.N.D.S themed cafe mirrors the real Central Perk with great perfection. They have a special F.R.I.E.N.D.S corner that features character themed walls, iconic themed furniture and props – brick walls, orange couch, neon signboards – all very familiar to F.R.I.E.N.D.S lovers. The corner even has Pat the Dog, a Pacman machine, Monica’s kitchen and Joey’s Italian fine craftsmanship cabinet – the key to details is amazing! If you’re a die-hard F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan I’m sure this place will leave you in nostalgia.

The cafe is very well designed – quite cozy if you are lucky with reserving the couch area.  Highly recommend you to make a reservation otherwise you’ll end up queuing for over an hour (just like what my friends and I had to do). After an hours wait, we got seated right near the big projector screen that had random episodes of the show playing.

The Central Perk menu was quirky and fun. They had six options to choose from, mostly named after the F.R.I.E.N.D.S characters. Since we weren’t all that hungry to have proper meals we decided to share “Chandler’s Righteous Mac & Cheese,” “Garlicky French Fries (The Way Monica Cooks It)” and a cup of coffee each. I ordered the “Phoebe Buffay – lightly roasted” – with the hopes that a Gunther lookalike would serve my coffee (that clearly did not happen).

The food was surprisingly really good, given that themed cafes usually don’t score that great on taste. We enjoyed our meal as we watched the reruns of the show playing on the big screen.

The cafe does great justice to the real Central Perk Cafe shown on the show – definitely worth the hype! We left with no reasons to complain for the hours wait prior to entering.

Good food, great interior and highly insta-friendly – these were enough perks for me to visit Central Perk!
